SECTION 3: HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Emergency Overview: Clear colorless gas with faint ethereal odor. Contents under pressure. Prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat may cause bursting of can. Contact with liquid can cause frostbite.
Potential Health Effects:
Eye: Irritation due to frostbite
Skin: Defatting and irritation
Inhalation: Overexposure can cause drowsiness and loss of concentration
Ingestion: Not a likely route of exposure since product is a gas
Carcinogenicity: IARC - No NTP - No OSHA - No
Chronic: Prolonged overexposure may contribute to cardiac sensitization
SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES
First Aid Procedures:
If Inhaled: Move to fresh air. Give oxygen to exposed person, if necessary.
If Swallowed: Not a likely route of exposure
If In Eyes: Flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes.
If On Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water.
Note to Physician: N/A
SECTION 5: FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Flash Point (oF) & Method: None Flammable Limits - Lower: N/A Upper: N/A
Extinguishing Media: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam, water spray
Fire & Explosion Hazards: Aerosol cans are under pressure - exposure to temperatures above 120oF can cause bursting or "rocketing" of cans. Firefighters should use self-contained respiratory protection in buildings or confined spaces.
Hazardous Combustion Products: Halogens, carbonyl halides
Flammability Classification: (NFPA) Level 1 Aerosol
SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
In case of spill or accidental release: Use absorbent material to soak up liquid. Place used absorbents into closed DOT-approved containers for disposal.
SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE
Precautions for Handling and Storage: Shake well before using. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames. Prolonged exposure to direct sunshine or storage above 120oF may cause can to burst. Do not puncture or incinerate can.
SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION
Respiratory Protection: Not required when used as directed.
Ventilation: General ventilation should be provided.
Protective Gloves: PVA or Neoprene gloves may be used.
Eye Protection: Safety glasses or goggles are recommended.
Other Protective Clothing or Equipment: Not required when used as directed.
Work & Hygienic Practices: Wash hands thoroughly after use.
