SECTION 3: HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Emergency Overview: Colorless liquid with odor of rubbing alcohol. Contents under pressure. Prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat may cause bursting of can. Flammable. Do not use near open flames or other sources of ignition. Mild eye and skin irritant.
Potential Health Effects:
Eye: Redness, stinging, mild irritation
Skin: Mild irritation. Prolonged or repeated exposure can cause drying, cracking and skin burns
Inhalation: Not likely to be harmful in small amounts. Overexposure can cause irritation of respiratory tract and central nervous system depression.
Ingestion: Not likely to be harmful in small amounts. Swallowing large amounts can cause cramps, nausea, diarrhea and central nervous system depression.
Carcinogenicity: IARC - No NTP - No OSHA - No
Chronic: Prolonged overexposure may contribute to mild, reversible liver effects
SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES
First Aid Procedures:
If Inhaled: Move to fresh air. Give oxygen to exposed person, if necessary.
If Swallowed: Induce vomiting. Get medical attention.
If In Eyes: Flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes.
If On Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water.
Note to Physician: N/A
SECTION 5: FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Flash Point (oF) & Method: 53, TCC Flammable Limits - Lower: 2.0 % Upper: 12.0 %
Extinguishing Media: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam
Fire & Explosion Hazards: Aerosol cans are under pressure - exposure to temperatures above 120oF can cause bursting or "rocketing" of cans. Firefighters should use self-contained respiratory protection in buildings or confined spaces.
Hazardous Combustion Products: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide
Flammability Classification: (NFPA) Level 2 Aerosol
SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
In case of spill or accidental release: Use absorbent material to soak up liquid. Place used absorbents into closed DOT-approved containers for disposal.
SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE
Precautions for Handling and Storage: Shake well before using. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames. Prolonged exposure to direct sunshine or storage above 120oF may cause can to burst. Do not puncture or incinerate can.
SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION
Respiratory Protection: Not required when used as directed.
Ventilation: General ventilation should be provided.
Protective Gloves: PVA or Neoprene gloves may be used.
Eye Protection: Safety glasses or goggles are recommended.
Other Protective Clothing or Equipment: Not required when used as directed.
Work & Hygienic Practices: Wash hands thoroughly after use.
